It's not great, but there is worse. I lived in unit 201 for a year. I was the first one to move in on the second floor after the remodel. When I first moved in, it seemed like nothing worked. I had issues with both my washer and dryer, plumbling, and electrical. It was obvious that the remodel was done extremely cheap. They cut corners anywhere they could to save money. I completely understand this from a business perspective, but it was frusturating to have to keep calling maintenance every time I needed something fixed. Another issue is when they remodeled the place, they put in windows that don't allow for window units, so there is no AC in the units. It gets extremely hot during the summer. Also, I was told upon moving in that they would soon be turning the basement area into a fitness center and storage facilities. This never happened and the basement is just full of junk, some of which could be a hazard if kids ever wondered down there unattended.
After about three months of living in unit 201, someone moved into unit 301 (directly above my unit). The tenant there sings and plays music very loudly at all hours of the night, making it almost impossible to sleep at times. It got to the point where I was having trouble focusing at work and college from a lack of sleep. He also has a very large dog, which runs around the apartment at all hours of the night as well, which is extremely loud in unit 201. For this reason, I would strongly advise against moving into 201 if you want to sleep at night.
Management isn't great either. After the original property manager left, the new people never smiled at me once anytime I would pass the office. Just a simple smile on occasion would have gone a long way. I get the feeling that they don't really care about you once you sign that lease. They know they're going to get their money one way or the other.
